Metal Halide Bulbs: Like HPS lights, metal halide lamps are high-intensity options. One major difference, though, is the type of light being produced. Metal halide bulbs give off blue light and are best for the vegetative state of growth or non-flowering plants.
- LED Lights: LED grow lights are known for their longevity. They can provide up to 50,000 hours of light before needing to be replaced. Since these types of lamps produce a broad spectrum of light, they can be used for all types of plants in various stages of growth. They generate less heat and could be considered more efficient than other types of lamps as well.
While some types of lamps offer more effective light for flowering plants, others are more appropriate for leafy varieties. Certain lights can accommodate all growing needs.
